Santasaur Socks PDF Knitting Pattern
THIS IS A DIGITAL PDF PATTERN, NOT A FINISHED PAIR OF SOCKS. I do not offer made to order versions of my sock patterns.
Merry Christmas to all! This sock pattern was such a delight to make in collaboration with Yarnaceous Fibers for the 2022 Christmas Eve Cast-On Box. The yarn and pattern were inspired by the book The Dinosaurs’ Night Before Christmas by Anne Muecke with illustrations by Nathan Hale. I wanted to make a sock pattern that reminded me of elves and would be fun, mindless, but still interesting to knit while enjoying all of the busy holiday events.
Supplies:
250-400 yards/228-365 meters of fingering weight yarn for your MC depending on the size of your foot.
Two contrast skeins of 50-87 yards/45-80 meters of fingering weight yarn for CC1 and CC2
Recommended: Yarnaceous Salta Fingering
US 1 (2.25mm) and US 1.5 (2.5mm) knitting needles for knitting in small circumferences. Either 9 inch circulars, 24 inch for magic loop, or DPNs
Stitch Markers
Tapestry Needle
Optional: a sock ruler & row counter
Gauge: 9 stitches x 11 rows in one inch on a US 1 needle in stockinette in the round
There are three sizes of sock for different foot circumference 7” (8”, 9”). Measure around the ball of your foot to determine which size will be best for you.
